CONCERT REVIEW: BKTHERULA AT THE OPERA HOUSE WITH YUNG FAZO & YHAPOJJ (07-20-2024)

Atlanta rapper Bktherula has made 2024 her year as one of the most polarizing artists in the underground rap scene. From collaborating with YoungBoy Never Broke Again on CRAZY GIRL P2 to opening up PinkPantheress early this year on her Capable of Love tour, her work ethic and growth as an artist have elevated to levels that have never been reached before. Back in March, BK released her sophomore release to the LVL5 series with breakout singles like CRAYON, TATTI, & SHAKIN IT (w/ Cash Cobain) and it has been generally received well by fans and critics.

As the latest album gained lots of reception in all formats, the Atlanta rapper has decided to tour all over North America on her I Just Wanna Be Me tour in support of the album, and she brought alongside UK hyperpop artist Skaiwater & Alabama rapper Yhapojj. BK had also managed to stop by Toronto to perform at the legendary Opera House.

The show started with Yhapojj performing many tracks like hope ulike me, Turnin Lane, & 1o, and the Alabama artist showed his energy through his minimal yet impactful vibes. His DJ played some tunes while the fans turned up in satisfaction. Yhapojj brought some unique melodies and his flows worked well when he performed other tracks like NDA Club, Neva, Done With, & Whats Up Wit. With a good and consistent stage presence along with a supporting fanbase for the night, Yhapojj set the night off well.

Due to unfortunate circumstances, Skaiwater couldn’t make it to Toronto to perform and BK managed to make some last-minute adjustments and brought rising underground rapper Yung Fazo for a special set. The young artist brought lots of energy to his set as he performed many tracks like Highs and Lows, motion, & Laugh2thebank. Fazo showed the crowd love and it was reciprocated back with a turnt vibration and many moshpits. As he performed other tracks like dowhatido, Oh My, steal da swag & ttwlg, Yung Fazo’s presence was proven well with his excellent vocals and remarkable stage presence.

As Fazo finished his set, Bktherula’s DJ, Micro, played some classic underground rap tracks and the crowd got turnt even further as BK showed up and started the set with CODE. It was nothing but great vibes as BK brought great energy, dope flows, and an amazing stage presence.

From tracks like CODE, CRAYON, LEFT RIGHT, UH HUH, & CRAZY GIRL, the Atlanta underground rap artist blessed the stage with remarkable sounds and energy and even matched the vibrations from her outfit with unique braids, a blue tracksuit, and some top grills to showcase a remarkable aura.

She took a break in the middle of her set and performed other tracks like SHAKIN IT (where she brought female fans on stage to twerk) & TATTI. She then closed off her set with Tweakin' Together, SANTANNY, & ILOVEUBACK<3 to give the Toronto fans a remarkable set likewise.
