2Kz Makes His Return To  Music After Nearly 2 Years With His New Single, Free Agent

Scarborough rapper 2Kz is back on the scene after two years of not releasing music since his 2023 release, Point Me 2 Freestyle. If you don't know who he is, he's a rapper from the Galloway area of Scarborough who received co-signs from Drake and 40 around 2018-2019 through his hit single, Intern, alongside his project, Trap Rel8ted. He also made headlines back in 2022 when he was set to perform at the first-ever Rolling Loud Toronto but was blocked from performing by Toronto Police due to past experiences with the system and engaging in that bias.

He has since his first single since 2023, Free Agent, and the gloomy production along with Detroit-style feel of the song allows him to provide unique bars in regards to his rise and hunger as an artist and how's he a one of a kind based on his story and journey as an artist from one of Toronto's roughest neighbourhoods and how's he able to beat the odds.

With his lifestyle rap-style verses on his song detailing much of his experiences detailing life on the streets and getting off parole, he explains his balance between both worlds between being an artist and being someone transitioning from life on the streets and the song changes the ambiance and feel through the beat switch and the tone and flow through his lyrics, along with closing it through the post-chorus.

Captured by 22 Tiger and mixed & mastered by Mixed By Sosa, the music video shows him in a storage unit with people around him and a photo studio by himself, and the colour grading gives it a gloomy look to match the aesthetic and feel of the song, and there were many camera transitions that transition from 4K to VHS.

You can listen to Free Agent on all platforms, and the video is out now on the Trap Rel8ted Records YouTube channel.
